AugustineA
By the grace of God and the love of his Son, the Latin Mass is the most beautiful thing I've experienced.. ever. With respect to all the brothers and sisters here who attend the NO Mass regularly, I cannot see myself ever attending it on a regular basis. I want the Extraordinary to be the ordinary because what was ordinary there was astounding to me. The Latin Mass reminded me of the Orthodox Jewish service I once attended, but honestly more beautiful. At one point, the church was full of incense and chant, prayers, and families, and it felt like here was this warm ark, or giant family, taking refuge from the world. I know it sounds dramatic, but it's true. :l Everything outside seemed alien and cold. I've never seen so many babies, giggling, squeaking, gurgling, or giant families, or girls dressing in dresses and veils, or fathers acting as pillows for their kids. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't that feeling of life and warmth. There was even a kid sleeping on the pew underneath me as I prayed haha. I'll protect and support that parish come hell or high water, literally. :crusader:

In its name I claim you for Christ our Savior by the traditional Mass. ;) If you ever want any clarification or advice, or just to shoot the breeze, I am sure that most of the PMers here who attend the traditional Mass would be more than happy to help. :) Send me a PM anytime. chrysostom
With respect to all the brothers and sisters here who attend the NO Mass regularly, I cannot see myself ever attending it on a regular basis. Do remember how blessed you are to be close enough to one to attend! I've never seen so many babies, giggling, squeaking, gurgling, or giant families, or girls dressing in dresses and veils, or fathers acting as pillows for their kids. HAHA yes! Not a Sunday goes by at my parish that I don't hear Kyrie Eleison, ChristWAAAAAAAAAAUGHGAAAUUUUWAAAWAAAAAAAWWUGGGHHAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEIEIIIIAUWWGHeison, followed by a mother's hasty genuflection and exit up the pews, child in arms. And then I look at the statue of the Mother of God and think on how much of a silly baby I must appear to her. I'm in! :) Thank you Nihil. I'm sure there is a whole universe of history and fascinating questions related to the traditional practices of the Church. I haven't been this excited since my conversion. Do remember how blessed you are to be close enough to one to attend! HAHA yes! Haha, that eeeeeeieiii at the end is very accurate, and the mothers genuflecting and heading in and out, even a dad once or twice. It was something else seeing how many patient mothers were there. And downstairs there was practically an army of women organizing things, God bless 'em. There was more male participation at that Mass than I've seen at any NO Mass as well. I'm empathetic to people who can't make it to one. I was there at one point, and I think even resented traditionalists a bit.. So I get it lol. Congrats! Sounds like a great Sunday. :) Thanks Light! It was. There were even funny points, like when the priest disappeared.. And then wap, he hit us from behind with a bunch of holy water lol. SilentJoy
By the grace of God and the love of his Son, the Latin Mass is the most beautiful thing I've experienced.. ever. In whatever Form, the Mass is heaven on earth, but the EF seems to engage the imagination more effectively. Was it a High Mass? Funny story: until my Baptist parents starting coming to the Latin Mass with me, I always sat in the middle of the right end of the pew. I did this for a year. When my parents decided they wanted to come, I sat on the end for the first time (so that I wouldn't have to walk on anyone to get out). You can't imagine my consternation when I found out that the priest and altar boys make bobbing motions during the Confiteor. I'm so short that I never saw it until I had an aisle seat. Initially I thought, 'O no! The priest dropped something! What could he had dropped? His glasses are still on." Then the altar boys seemed to be trying to help him find it. Suddenly the boys' heads twitched the other way and I thought "AAA! IT'S MOVING???"

You could smell the incense from down the street.

Not The Philosopher
I have neither, but Baronius press' books are pretty high quality, and I've seen their missal recommended before.
Nihil Obstat
Both are basically equivalent. The Angelus one you linked there is imitation leather whereas Baronius is genuine. The Angelus has pages with the order of other sacraments (baptism, confirmation), or at least so I hear. Baronius has neither of those, not that it is usually a big deal. I use the Baronius missal every week, and it never lets me down.
