New Hope For Kansas Homeschoolers

I received an email today telling me about Senate Substitute for HB2506 currently being looked at in the Kansas Legislature. In brief it amends the property tax laws to give tax breaks to parents who homeschool instead of using the Public system (similar exemptions have been in place in Kansas for private and charter schools). I am very pleased with this development and if you happen to be a voter in Kansas or know a voter in Kansas it would be good to make them aware of this and to call their State Senator in support. Since Parents are the primary educators of their children I think any way we can support them is fantastic.

Eh, it's fine. It's not the best for a super extroverted person like me, but from an extroverted person's perspective, it's given me a lot of opportunities to value silence and handling being alone. A lot of people don't know how to handle being alone and silence, and it's nice to be able to have those skills at such a young age. I'd much rather learn it now than when I'm living alone when I'm 26 and have a mental breakdown because I don't know how to handle it.
