Selah
Wow, awesome! I love your icons :) I miss my home altar. I have a small painted wall crucifix right now on my wall. I hope I can expand it to an icon corner one day.
Pia Jesu
Ugh, yes! My prayer corner is all squeezed onto the top of a CD stand... :| In India, they have the beautiful practice of setting puja tables for meditation, prayer, etc. I've even seen a small altar-of-sorts on the dashboard of a car (be careful!), on top of a refrigerator, on a countertop and in a closet! Can we ever have too many sacred spaces?! I'm looking at the top of a CD stand right now...Hmmm...
Fidei Defensor
I did a little re-arranging and adding, and this is how it looks now: Added the angel statues and the rose bowl thing that has my rosaries in it. The square box with blue designs on it on the right has my rosary I purchased from the Nuns running the gift shop in the Vatican. Fidei Defensor
And you came back into the Church when? Boy you work fast! Beautiful job! I had the advantage of having held on to much of my religious stuff even though I fell away from the Church.

Fidei Defensor
I just love being reminded to pray and be holy whenever I'm at home, so I try to mimic traditional Church-ish decor as best I can. I have a thing for candlesticks and statues :)
chrysostom
So I finally got a hold of a standing crucifix, which means I have some basic ingredients for a home altar ready. It's not complete or anything - I just laid out what I've got at the moment. When I move in January I won't be able to have candles due to fire regulations. Also I will be limited to using sticky wall-tack on the walls, so no big hanging crosses/crucifixes. What do you think I'll need to make this actually look nice? I can think of linen, flowers, an image of the Pope, and maybe a little holy water stoup. Edited August 25, 2014 by chrysostom
marigold
There's something very moving about seeing people's private prayer spots. Golden-mouth, if it were me I would hang/affix some nice cloth or paper around the 3 'walls' of the prayer corner. And then put a cloth or doily under the crucifix and add a tea light.... And flowers or green leaves... I love it when people have mini censers at home but I'm too much of a fire hazard to try that. I'm sofa-surfing till the end of September so I just have one tiny icon of the Mother of God by my pillow and it occasionally gets batted around by the kitten :/
puellapaschalis
There's something very moving about seeing people's private prayer spots. This! It's something very personal. I'm not sure I'd want to show mine (nothing wrong with doing so, of course), but this one is lovely in its simplicity.
