PhuturePriest
Judging by the title, you all surely thought this had something to do with my leg shaving, however, rest assured, everything in that department continues to be fine and hair-free. No, rather, this is about something arguably more important, though just as life-changing and permanent. Last Saturday, I asked Steve Ray to pray for me. He went above and beyond the call, telling me he would tell his wife about me and they would pray for me, then he announced and introduced me to the entire crowd during his talk, asking them to pray for me and my entrance into seminary. Going above and beyond the call, he took my book about Saint John Paul the Great out, and wrote "I met John Paul II twice, and I pass his blessing on to you. God bless your entrance into seminary." Well, apparently that did the trick, because despite planning to apply this Fall, in a sudden turn of events I am applying this weekend, and will have my first meeting with the vocations director this weekend as well. I'm kind of flipping out. He could determine that I shouldn't go forward with the application process simply based off this meeting. It's not likely, but possible. My spiritual director has been coaching me on what to say and focus on/calming me down all morning. Pray.

PhuturePriest
I would. :smile3: No, this is a serious thing. However, a month ago I told my dad that I believe in climate change, which he considered the slippery slope to being a democrat, so I just went on a car ride with him and told him I'm a democrat. His response was "Are you just telling me this to piss me off?" From there, we argued about it, and it was priceless. Then we got home, and he literally took my mother outside to tell her and discuss it with her. I almost don't ever want to tell them it's a joke. :P

And I understand that being a democrat is such a stigma in the Catholic community but it shouldnt be. Its too bad people just assume youre a baby killing cray just because you fall in line with a lot of Democratic thoughts. I dont fully identify with either party....Republicans are not prolife after birth and and Democrats are not prolife before birth. I take bits from both. However I will be officially registering as Democrat mostly because I align with their ideals to a higher degree than republicans. But my dad is the same way. There is only ONE party he thinks is good...and its Republicans. I grew up as one and I am deciding to move away from it.

I almost jumped ships to the democrat party last week, but there were some economic beliefs I couldn't find logic to rectify with the problems I found. This was just an hysterical idea I thought of, and it's totally worth it. My dad called my sister, and he told her quote "I am f***ing furious." It's just too funny. I've been laughing hysterically all day. :P

You dont get anywhere and your vote kind of gets lost. But i understand people doing it for personal or moral reasons.

I was just with my dad, and he told me "I guess I've decided that, if you decide to be a democrat, you're a young man now, and you're free to choose it. It doesn't mean I'll like it, but it's your choice." I almost briefly felt bad for the prank. :P
