It has become clear there is a problem with sodomy in the clergy and in the seminaries.  Due to the fact sodomy is considered an "abomination" before the Lord, and wolves' inside the Church desperately attempt to sweep this under the rug, further publicity is required.

Any reference to past or current commissions/methods and suspected results are very welcome.

Sodomy should never be tolerated. Neither should sexual abuse against children in the clergy or any other type of sexual (or non sexual) types of abuse.

Every person should be held to the same standard and nothing should be swept under the rug. Im not sure who these wolves are that you are referring to, but I hope that the people who commit these crimes are held accountable.

I disagree with your thesis.

Vatican never really tackled the issue and likely won't, so God is ok if one invokes primacy of conscience and becomes Orthodox or Protestant yet retains Catholic faith.

Are you joking? Whoever leaves the Church because they don't feel the Church has adequately tackled this problem is not a faithful Catholic in the first place. And you can't be an Orthodox or protestant and still retain the Catholic Faith. That's an oxymoron.

If someone leaves the Catholic Church, he does not retain Catholic faith.  If you mean by "faith" the bare intellectual assent to teachings, perhaps - but to my mind the expression "retains Catholic faith" implied more than that.

further publicity is required.

What sort of publicity are you trying to foster by posting about this on an online forum?  What action do you think could result from it?

If there is publically shared information out there, fine.  "Suspected results" sounds like "hearsay" but I might be reading too much into that at this point.

I know this has been problem in some seminaries, I don't know which ones and how many.  I'm just a little confused at what you're trying to accomplish by this thread.

Are you talking about the commissions done in the 1990's which identified the problem, and the one conducted in the 2000's which showed significant improvement or the investigations that are done on every applicant and the on going formation of sexual integration and healthy celibate living and understanding the nature of life one has chosen, and how even the smallest allegation is dealt with in a very serious manner? From somebody INSIDE the seminary system it seems to me that you are not qualified to be making judgments on what has been "made clear" about the seminaries in regard to this issue.

I agree, especially considering that in the last thread he received responses from people who have been in seminary recently or were currently in seminary which should have given him all the information he needed about the current state of several operating seminaries.

I think you misunderstood the story I told about my spiritual director. He was in the seminary in 1983. It's 2014. This problem has been effectively dealt with. The screening is more rigorous, and the smallest allegation is dealt with in a serious manner, as PadrePio said. Seminarians are told to report anything inappropriate that goes on, whereas in the '80s there was a sense of trying to hush those types of things up. The problem that once existed is now a rare thing due to the strong leadership taken by the Church. I don't see why you are so obsessed with it.

Amoreth is a joke.  He claims to see all of this corruption, etc, etc, but I know someone who stole money (and we're talking in the 6 figures) in order to fund a trip of his and send other priests to his training and he declared her to be pure of heart.  He also said and did a few other things that make me feel he really doesn't know what's going on spiritually or morally...he's in it for his own glory and his own story.

I understand that the Church is at war with the culture and with itself. But this is a problem that has incredibly dwindled, and there's no reason to make mountains out of molehills. Homosexuality is not the biggest problem with the Church right now. To say that it is belittles the other huge issues we're having.

I hope you reported her.
