To assume the only problem men can have with it is that they are horny? *facepalm* That. Was. My. Point. And of course women should be modest. As should men. But really, if society held men to the same standards we hold women, my God but the bsing would not end. Do you not think it's incredibly sexist to think that the only thing a woman's body is good for is sex? Perhaps you do not think it, but in our culture, that idea exists. I'm a man (sort of) "getting involved", if you will, on the argument. So, are men not allowed to have opinions on breastfeeding, or are they allowed so long as they believe women can breastfeed wherever and however they want? Well, if "getting invlolved" means making women cover up so they don't "stumble" or making them breastfeed secluded, then...no, they don't get to have a say. But really that goes for women, too. CrossCuT Posted March 25, 2014 Share Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) I think at the end of the day, people dont have a lot of exposure to breast feeding moms so they are a little thrown off when they see it. People feel how they feel but at the end of the day the mother doesnt always have the choice of going somewhere more private for the sake of modesty. Baby has to eat when a baby has to eat. I totally hear what you are saying. It's not as common place to have a lot of babies and kids around that are breastfeeding in the average American town, so it can be jarring to someone to see a mom breastfeeding. In my case, seeing a mom breastfeeding is pretty normal. I saw my mom breastfeed ALL THE TIME when I was growing up with 5 younger siblings. But even in our own home my mom covered herself. Its usually when I see a boob pop out is when im like "Oh snap, look away!" Mostly because I feel like the mom doesnt want me staring and her exposed chest! Like in the case when the mom was non-covered breast feeding in her kitchen while talking to me...her boob was exposed. I was like "Om.g dont look at the boob! Dont look at the boob! It's bad for your throat (Scientific fact), and incredibly annoying, thus endangering your health by astronomically increasing your odds of getting beaten up.
