Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
Freedom isn't forcing others to believe what you believe. Can the u.s.a try and force other nations to allow there citizens absolute access to anything and everything on the internet and still claim to be freedom fighters. How is forcing others to believe what you believe freedom? Sounds like oppression to me and nothing to do with liberty and justice whatsoever. I think there is a thin line between freedom and oppression. Freedom does have rules that keep people free from oppression. Freedom is not anything goes. Freedom is not oppression. What sayeth ye all, what is freedom and what isn't freedom? I really would like to here other peoples opinions on what freedom is and what it isn't. P.s. Please be mindful that the u.s authorities obliterated the l.a rioters also. Does not any government have the right to protect it's people from what it deems to be detrimental to the welfare of it's peoples and national peace, to the best of it's knowledge and understanding of what is good and what isn't? Turkey has done nothing as far as i can tell except to subdue a minority uprising of rioters causing public nuisance. I may be wrong and the government may not have had the right to subdue the protesters but what right then did the u.s have to subdue the l.a rioters, c'mon guys think about it, how sure are we that these protesters where peaceful and not armed to the tooth looking for trouble, i honestly don't know but just a thought. There is always two sides and most Turks may not even wan't the internet anyway whatsoever and this was a minority uprising causing trouble. Do not the turkish people have such a freedom to choose such a thing as long as they don't force other nations to believe what they believe when it comes to social media and the internet in general, if the majority of the turkish nation believes such a thing? Just some thoughts. Onward christian souls. JESUS iz LORD! Edited March 22, 2014 by Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
NotreDame
Actually, we didn't "obliterate" the LA Riots. If I recall, the response was limited - so limited that it contributed to Police Chief Daryl Gates' resignation.
Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
ok but you get the point right? Yes or no? And what are your thoughts on freedom Notre? What is and what isn't freedom. Can a nation within there rites to freedom choose to not partake in social media?
Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
and sorry i shouldn't have said u.s.a incorporating all her citizens, that was not my intention, i should have said the u.s. government or perhaps the statement i heard was the secretary general acting on her own will. NotreDame
The rest is a little esoteric for me. I just wanted to set the record straight on the LA Riots.
