Luigi
What is wrong with you people? The better part of the day is shot to Helsinki and still no one has posted anything for St. Patrick's Day. Lord, Lord! What is this world coming to? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-kXrEisqb4
PhuturePriest
I am over a quarter Irish. And apparently, over a quarter British: http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/83811/march-15-2007/st--patrick-s-day?xrs=synd_facebook_031714_cn_13
TheresaThoma
I think many people were hiding out in the Lame Board (or out actually doing something). Anyways random fact St Patrick was not actually IRISH!
Luigi
I think many people were hiding out in the Lame Board (or out actually doing something). Anyways random fact St Patrick was not actually IRISH! He wasn't born Irish - that's true. But he gave himself completely to the Irish, even after they had treated him very badly for a very long time. So he's still the patron saint of Ireland and all her scattered children. TheresaThoma
Very true! I just find it fun to mess with people who don't know.
CatherineM
We have been drinking locally made mead. I can no longer feel my knees.
The Bus Station
Catherine, serious props. One glass of mead and I am "bluthered" as my Irish grandfather used to say! Bluthered does not mean sober I raise an empty glass of pinot gritiot (please judge me) to all the Pham. Cheers!
Anastasia13
And all I have is vodka... May the blessing of God's soft rain be on you, Falling gently on your head, refreshing your soul With the sweetness of little flowers newly blooming. May the strength of the winds of Heaven bless you, Carrying the rain to wash your spirit clean Sparkling after in the sunlight. May the blessing of God's earth be on you, And as you walk the roads, May you always have a kind word for those you meet. AugustineA
Happy St. Patrick's day! I am drinking grape juice... maybe there's something in the kitchen.. Gross the only thing in the kitchen is a spicy dessert wine. I fail at St. Patrick's day.
Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
Little known possible fact, st patrick probably didn't even drink a drop or hardly ever had a drop except from the holy wine in the holy chalice at holy mass. :) Edited March 18, 2014 by Tab'le De'Bah-Rye

AnneLine
Our pastor (Irish) gave ALL parishioners a dispensation for St. Pat's day because St. Pat is one of the patrons of our diocese, so it is a SOLEMNITY here. Then he asked how many of us are Italian? And for the Italians, they ALSO get a dispensation for St. Joseph's day. (And since St. Joseph is a principal Patron of my Order, and is a solemnity for us.... yup, we get the day too!!!!!) I bet this is the start of a great new joke... "Didn't you know that Sts. Pat and Cyril and Joe went down to the pub...."
