Ash Wednesday
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GScyqXchS6c I came across this video of some nuns' reactions upon receiving the news that there was white smoke and Pope Francis had just been elected. I just thought it was so sweet the way they were just giddy and their faces were radiant with contagious joy. Enjoy.

TheresaThoma
That is a legit question I'm sure... when you have people with various levels of cook abilities sharing cooking duties....
Deus te Amat
I was helping clean up for lunch and preparing ice tea for dinner. When the news came that there was white smoke, we all ran to the novitiate -- I was still carrying the wooden spoon used to stir the tea, and I used it for full effect in my excitement. :P
AveMariaPurissima
When I heard the news: In my community we lived in separate houses, and we would use walkie-talkies to communicate between the houses. Now, I was in Mexico, and one of the more interesting language quirks with Spanish is that "el papa" is "the pope," while "la papa" is "the potato." The two words are spelled and pronounced exactly the same way; the only difference between them is that one is masculine and the other is feminine. So, on March 13 I heard one of the Sisters on the walkie-talkie speaking in a very excited tone of voice. I didn't understand completely understand what she was saying -- I just kept hearing the word "papa." So I was a bit perplexed as to why she was speaking so excitedly about potatoes. It wasn't until a little bit later that I found out that we had a new pope! :hehe2:
