All up in your grills. And there's nothing anybody can do about it.

Check out this YouTube video that a friend and I made, the first episode in a series we're calling Signs of Contradiction. Consider it your extra Lenten penance:

Thanks for watching and subscribing!  We're working on the next video, on “disability awareness”… should be up this week or maybe next week.

I have been pondering a pilgrimage to Lourdes off and on (though this year because of visa renewal process I won't be able to travel for a while. Price is right fail horn)

I thought that a passport was enough for US citizens to visit France.

Yep, problem is I have to send my passport to the home office, they will process my passport and put the special "she's American but she's cool to stay here forever" sticker in it, which will take them a few months. :coffee:

tourist visas give you 3 months (90 days) within a 6 month period in all Schengen area countries (including France)... so you basically can stay 3 months, then leave for 3 months, then stay for 3 months, again and again... you could basically move back and forth between France and the UK every 3 months indefinitely and always be on a tourist visa, if you wanted to haha.  anything further requires special visas which generally require that you give them an FBI background check, which means sending in your fingerprints to the FBI, and that takes forever haha.

source: I've broken this rule a whole bunch, found so many loopholes, slipped through a whole bunch of cracks, gone into so many gray areas, and am only officially unquestionably legally allowed to be in Europe for the first time in the 2 years I've been here quite recently lol.  deciding to study in Europe at the last minute with no visa preparation puts you in a whole lot of interesting and fun situations... hey, I even got to see one of those back rooms by the passport control border in the airport where they have a bunch of waiting chairs and one bed for if they can't figure out what to do with you!   hahaha.

Trust me dudes, I'm pretty well versed in the visa situation as someone who has stayed in (and at times outside) the UK on both student, tourist, fiancee and spouse visas for almost 10 years now and has been married to an EU citizen for over five years. I almost got kicked out of Britain the day that I got engaged because of a grumpy passport control woman in need of some chocolate.... :hehe2:

Now about that podcast....
