PhuturePriest
Because it's not a coherent viewpoint. Honestly like that is a rare gem.
Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
If you see marriage as a union before God - man and woman alone can enter sich a union. If you see marriage as a simple contract, ie, a civil-union, giving entitlement from the state, province or nation, then there is nothing to oppose same-sex marriage. (Technically speaking, you coupld mary a monkey, like some have left estates to their pets and such.) Pope francis obviously differentiates between the two civil unions and marriage in the holy roman catholic church. And there is a difference even if it is as simple as a dog isn't a cat but both a pets. Or perhaps dogs and cats are pets and bears are wild animals although all still being animals. :) Catholics catholic and the states the state. Simple. And the church can support same sex civil unions based on socio economic reasons and the stability of the economy of a nation, but not marriage nore for the reason of same sex attraction or homo sexual sexual intercourse, so to speak.
