Packing, Cleaning, Moving

I don't want to pack. However, I need to be all done packing by tomorrow night, since I'm checking out of my apartment at 8:30 on Saturday morning. So all it probably means is that I should go to bed.... And that packing is a pain. I really should be grateful that I can move though, and that I get the help of a friend with a van to get everything up the hill. (I'm just moving to a different apartment on campus, a few minutes' walk away. I basically just need to get out of where I am, because the roommate situation is pretty bad.)

I'm done with the desk, the bookcase, and the sprawled out mess over the coffee table and couch. So that makes the worst done, so I really shouldn't complain.

Anyway.... Basically, I'm tired. Good night... or something, depending on whether I actually go to bed, try my hand at the homework for tomorrow, or follow a compulsive urge to pack more.

I too have decamped more than a few times - including twice to another country.

Put box in room. Put stuff from that room in that box.

Fasten box. Label box.

Transport to new home.

Put box in same room in new house.

Unpack in that room.

Enjoy.

If it goes like the above you'll be laughing all the way.

I found a 2.5 hour video of Disney songs.... So it's running while I pack. Except I'm not packing now, so it's not running. It's helped dispel some of the tedium. But I only have the kitchen, clothes, bathroom stuff, and some stuff I've left around piled on the coffee table and desk. So it's going.... No sleep until it's done. And I'm glad for the school cafeteria today, because that means I can pack up the kitchen and not have to worry about washing the dishes. (I already packed the dishes and a little of the other kitchen stuff... the dishes are all mixed up with sheets, towels, the shower curtain, and my quilt.)

And I'm thirsty, but I packed the cups.... I should use my tooth brushing cup, I guess.

Well, I'm done with everything except the bathroom stuff, and that shouldn't take too long. And some stuff that's still lying on the coffee table and desk. And taking out the trash and recycling. And a little bit of cleaning. But I'll be done by whatever time it is when I go to bed... even if I don't have enough boxes. I mean, were just loading the stuff in a friend's car....

Yes! I think I've finished cleaning (my PA (peer advisor, called RAs at the school my brother went to) might have different ideas since I don't know exactly what's expected to be clean), and I've finished packing everything I need to pack before I can go to bed. Now I have just one little chore left, and then sleep! I check out at 8:30 AM Pacific Time, and check into the new place at 9:00 AM Pacific Time. Less than 7.5 more hours that I can call this place my own. (And I guess I'll be homeless for something less than half an hour?)

No idea what time zone I am in but I hope you are not homeless but already unpacking in your new place.

May He richly bless you there.

Well, it's all done. Well, except for a tiny bit anyway. Now I'm just about to enjoy a cup of tea and a book before bed.
