Lil Red
Share only great/good homilies that you've heard lately. I'll start: Today we heard about sexual desire being good & holy, lust having nothing to do with sexual desire but using a person as a means to an end (as an object), and that's why pornography is wrong because it objectifies people. Father also touched on the fact that little sins like harboring quiet contempt for another, resentment of family, etc, leads to bigger sins. He also said that we have a radical choice that confronts us every day: life or death. (This is just what I'm remembering off the top of my head.) What great stuff have you heard in a homily lately? PhuturePriest
Unfortunately, I did not pay very much attention to the homily yesterday. One of my friend's is having a bad family situation, so I was focused on that pretty much the entire Mass. :P
cappie
Jesus completely fulfilled the true meaning of the Law. In doing so, he took upon himself our disobedience and died for us in the most generous gift of love.
Lil Red
kind of depressing that either people aren't listening enough, aren't getting good homilies, or don't care enough to post on phatmass. LOL.
Archaeology cat
Just saw this! Our pastor gave a great homily yesterday, from the parts I heard. Unfortunately, my younger two were a little more demanding of attention and so I didn't catch all of it.
PhuturePriest
The last homily I heard was last Saturday, and Father first joked about how there were so many things in the Gospel reading that day, but he had to choose just one due to time constraint. He said that he was really excited because in that in that particular reading there is a clear indication of Jesus speaking about purgatory, and how he had just realized it a few years ago and his mind was blown. That's around the time where I zoned out and started thinking about my friend. :P Edited February 18, 2014 by FuturePriest387
