A Petition To Put Bl. Pier Giorgio On The Liturgical Calendar.

Bl. Pier Giorgio was an all around Boss.

One of my heroes for him to have a feast day Celebrated in the Church would be awesome!

Oremoose, I think it would be a lovely idea, but unless I am mistaken, no can do according to the rules for Blesseds.  That's why we celebrate Bl. Junipero Serra here the USA (missionary to California 200 years ago), but other than the Franciscans, no can do for him, either.

 

There is a Frassati organization that organizes YA groups... maybe they would know more.

 

He can be celebrated (and IS!) in Italy and any other country with actual ties to him and in the Dominican Order.  The Dominicans are VERY happy to celebrate his memorial each year.  

 

The rest of us have to wait..... or go out and help him get a recognized miracle!

 

Anyone know anything differently?

YUS, it is!

 

BUT he does have a feast day - and an easy one to remember - July 4th!!!!!

 

The Summit Dominican Nuns often run stuff about him (and their own 4th of July celebration and fireworks!) on their website!
