brandelynmarie
So max, what sort of cake is your very favorite? :cake:
ChristinaTherese
"The cake is a lie" is a thing from a computer game called Portal. (It's a great game.) I just eat whatever, so long as it isn't a ton of chocolate, because chocolate has been known to trigger migraines for me. If I get a choice and my mom is making it, I like poppy seed bread. If I see red velvet cake I'm liable to take it.
maximillion
My fav cake is the one in front of me! Don't mind, so long as there are no nuts. Can't eat nuts. White Chiffon Cake with apricot conserve and fluffy whip frosting isn't too bad........

IgnatiusofLoyola
I love cake. I should wear a sign around my neck that reads "Will kill for cake." Unfortunately, I am now diabetic, so I avoid even pictures of cake. Giving up cake is better than dying, or having terrible side effects, but not by much. :smile3:

White Chiffon Cake with apricot conserve and fluffy whip frosting isn't too bad........ So no almond pound cake for you! :p I do love a strawberry shortcake-style cake...it's a double-layer white cake with fresh strawberries & whipped cream...there's a couple places around here that make it, but the one from Whole Foods is directly from Paradise ;) Edited February 15, 2014 by brandelynmarie
TheresaThoma
Cake is yummy. My fellow staff member made red velvet cake (from a mix) for the house for valentine's day today. It was yummy and moist.
maximillion
I would (will) not be able to give up cake if (when) I become diabetic. It is my greatest anxiety. Given how much cake I eat and that my maternal g'mam had type 1 diabetes, I am surely in the running. So far, at age 62 I am getting away with it! Current cake - a Victoria Sponge with strawberry jam and buttercream filling. Got it at the farmers market yesterday.
brandelynmarie
Ah, please explain...what is a Victorian sponge? Would it be what we just call cake over the pond? We have angel food & chiffon too...
