4588686
Have a current job. Stable. pays well for my age. A former boss is running a state level campaign in a swing state and offered me a job with it. So, I'd get greater campaign experience with a rising star in the party but I'd take a pay cut (and have to move to Ohio) and I'd be unemployed in 9 months. arfink
Being unemployed isn't a problem, it's a glorious gateway to freedom and self employment.
4588686
Is it enough for those 9 months? Probably not. However it would just be a cut of a few hundred dolors. I mean I wouldn't be working for free.
Basilisa Marie
Have you ever done something like this before, and if not, will this experience help your future career prospects? If you have savings and the money isn't a big deal, I'd go for it.

Does the current job have a promotion ladder in an industry you would like to keep working in, or does it provide relevant work experience that will help promote you later? If not, and you want to stay in politics, take the campaign job. If it does, then your decision is harder and you'll have to weigh the likelihood of promotion opportunities etc. If the pay cut isn't going to make you go broke and the experience is worthwhile, then a sacrifice of $2,000ish now in paycuts may payout a heckuva lot more later. NotreDame
You are asking all the wrong people. Find people that have done it or have had the option (prolly plenty of them in DC) and ask them how it turned out for them. Also, make the decision assuming he'll lose so you are modeling the worst case scenario.
