Bill Nye Vs. Ken Ham

Did anyone watch that painful debate? Bill Nye kept using science and fact, and he would ask Ken Ham a question, and he would reply with a quote from the Bible. That didn't impress atheists, and it didn't impress me.

For those who didn't watch, this quote sums up the entire debate:

Bill Nye was the open person, and Ken Ham was the closed-minded one. It drives me nuts that Ken Ham represented religion in this debate, because he has such a distorted and twisted view of it.

Guys like Bill Nye will only debate guys like Ken Ham.  The respectable skeptics of the 20th century are gone.

I highly respect Bill Nye. He was very charitable to Ken Ham the entire time, which is something I myself would have struggled with.

You schedule an idiot and even a lightweight like Bill Nye can come off as not only wise, but kind and charitable as well.  That's the whole point.

I have the youtube video link and I will be watching the debate asap. Im very excited.

Put a pillow on your desk so it doesn't hurt so much when you start slamming your head. Other than that, it is very enjoyable, and you learn so much from it.

Ken Ham invited Bill Nye, not the other way around.

If you want to call Bill Nye an idiot, that's fine, but keep in mind he is a very accomplished scientist and has more years of experience than you and I do.

One question: Do you hold creationism as a scientific fact? Do you agree with Ken Ham?

Sometimes protestants are so embarrassing... this is one of those times.

Actually, Bill Nye has the same level of science education as me (though he got it with an easier degree than mine), but it appears I have more industry experience than he does (not counting the bureaucratic committee work he does.)

I just called Ken Ham an idiot.  What do you think?

You called Bill Nye an idiot. I don't see where you called Ken Ham an idiot. However, I'd rather you not call either of them idiots. That is highly uncharitable. Both are scientists and know a lot about science. One has a distorted view of science, and one doesn't believe in God, but that doesn't make either of them idiots, it means they don't have a full understanding of faith and science. Having a misunderstanding about something doesn't make you an idiot.

You parsed the sentence incorrectly. It tripped me up a bit too; it might have benefited from an extra comma.

There is not a missing comma.  It's very clear I'm comparing Ken Ham to an idiot.

Read it like this:
