amesome Conversation!

I just had the most amazing conversation I've ever had in my entire life. I'm honestly not overstating this.

I'm at my mom's place for the weekend. We sat down to have a chat, and I told her how I've been dealing with some depression issues this week. I've been dealing with depression for a long time, and she's always been someone I could talk to. Anyway, the topic of prayer came up and I told her that I wanted to get back to the Church.  Her reaction stunned me. She was beyond excited about it!  She hasn't really been practising in years either, but she's wanted to get back to it as well so we're going to go to Mass together tomorrow evening or Sunday morning!

That's just the start, though.  It's 3:10am here and I'm just getting to bed now. We talked for a lot of hours about the bullying I dealt with in school, the death of my dad, her struggles through the years, and just about everything else. We talked a lot about our faith, and how we've both been feeling drawn back to the Church recently. She told me about her prayers for me, and that she'd recently prayed that we could have the sort of conversation that we did tonight. Anyway, don't mind my rambling, but I feel amazing right now and just had to share this.

I'm feeling really great about so much right now. I wish I could express in words the way I feel. The past couple of weeks have been a turning point in my life in a way I've never really experienced before, and last night was sort of a "kick in the pants" to get serious. I haven't confessed yet, so I won't be able to receive today at Mass, but just getting there is a huge (!) step forward for me. I'm feeling very blessed right now in a way I've never felt before. I know some/most of you already have that feeling, but as someone who's struggled with matters of faith pretty mightily, feeling the presence of God, knowing without a doubt that he's with me all the time, is something absolutely amazing. I'm feeling beyond blessed right now.

I'm glad to hear it. It is always a great thing when we get that kick in the pants...I know I've had more than a couple of kicks in my years...
