Private Vows - Thanksgiving And Prayer

Just back from my spiritual director and he has advised that our Vicar General (through the Archbishop) has given permission for me to renew my private vows at a Home Mass for the purpose, together with having "Bethany" (my residence) blessed.  I had no idea when I put it to my SD re renewing my vows at Mass that he would want to go the VG route and that the VG would want to consult His Grace - but since he wanted to go this route, I accepted.   But anyway it is all settled now and I was thoroughly prepared for a negative response, prepared in every way in fact, but unprepared for an affirmative.  I am overcome.  My attitude had been "Thy Will be done" - now I want to say "You got to be joking!" :)  I cried for joy when my spiritual director gave the Vicar General's response, although he retained non committal look when he replied "Yes, he has responded".  I cried when he said what that response was.

 

The VG wants me to ask my pp first to say the Mass - second preference my SD.  My parish priest can make contact with my spiritual director if he wishes. I am rather hoping that my parish priest will pass on the celebration to my spiritual director.  Apparently it needs to go to my pp first as the Mass will be in his parish.  My family and friends will be invited to celebrate with me and probably some time later this year or even 2015 when we might have good weather as my unit will not hold all comfortably and we can spill over into the pergola. My SD said to pick a feast day.  My SD is superior of his community (OMI - Oblates of Mary Immaculate).

I will be making a live-in retreat and general confession prior at our Passionist Monastery (SD suggested) not far from me. 

My thread on all this went into the archives ages ago.  I am going to have to budget tightly to cover the cost of a live-in retreat and the celebration after the Mass and house blessing as well as any incidentals - very tightly budget!

Grateful for prayer of much humble thanksgiving and that in hope my spiritual director will celebrate the Mass as he is far more familiar with my 30yr approx. journey than our pp and also my SD asked me to write and then approved my Rule of Life. A prayer too for my budget.
