cartermia
Homecoming is coming up so I need to have clear skin for that so I was wondering if anybody knew of any simple and easy that can be made at your house or be found at Wal-Mart of Kroger's. I have sensitive skin and my complexion is super light.

PhuturePriest
I just use Clean and Clear cleaner and then a moisturizer so my face doesn't start to get scaly like a snake. It doesn't get rid of acne completely, but it gets a large majority of it gone. Just remember that acne isn't really something to be ashamed about, so even if everything you try doesn't work, it really isn't the end of the world if you have some on Homecoming. cartermia
I know there I can cover up most of my acne with foundation but I really hate make-up. I really do...

cartermia
I know that but my sisters want me to have excellent skin for Homecoming since this year all three of us are going. Oh, and I am being forced to go to homecoming by my sisters. :pinch:

cartermia
Never, they just tell me what to do and I try to do it. Sometimes I am nice and make hot chocolate for them without me demanding I do it.
ChristinaTherese
Cetaphil. This is very good stuff. I know there I can cover up most of my acne with foundation but I really hate make-up. I really do... I hate makeup too. But I can't give you any recommendations for how to get rid of all your acne, because I've never really worried about it. But doing like I do and just picking on whatever lumps are on your face that you don't want ad infinitum is probably the wrong way to do things... I should know better by now. And your sisters.... Meh. Ask them for help. And if you can't have perfect skin and really don't want to wear makeup, what's more important to you? Your sisters being happy with your skin that night, or being comfortable?

Sometimes I am nice and make hot chocolate for them without me demanding I do it. It will be interesting for you to not have them around after they go to college, won't it? It might be good for you. I know it was good for me in an odd sort of way when my brother left. ;) (I'd been in his shadow all my life and didn't know what it was like to not be there.) Basilisa Marie
OOOH OOH I GOT THIS Okay so depending on when homecoming is and how bad your skin is, I'd still recommend makeup. Because Homecoming! You should post in the Ladies Get Dressed Up thread when you have pictures. :) Be wary of face masks and DIY stuff because it can turn nasty fast, because you've got sensitive skin and most of them don't actually work well anyway. The exception is always white paste toothpaste as an overnight spot treatment. That stuff is MAGIC for drying out a whitehead. Also if you really want a mask for something with black heads try eggwhite, using toilet paper or kleenex as strips, like a pore strip. Stir up the egg white to break it down a bit, then soak the strips of kleenex in it, scrape off the excess white, and put it on your face (nose, chin, whatever). Let it dry and peel it off. It'll probably hurt, but it'll rip the nasties out of your pores. ANYWAY. First, drink a ton of water. Half your weight in ounces. Every day. It'll help flush your system. And don't touch your face any more than you have to. If you put your phone next to your face and you notice you've got some pimples there, wipe your phone off with alcohol once a day. Do you have a regular face-cleaning routine? What do you do already? Second, do you have acne because of hormones, oiliness, or dryness? If it's hormones, I can't help you. If it's dryness, find a good moisturizer with salicylic acid in it or at least one that says it's non-comedogenic (aka won't clog your pores). I use clean and clear - the one in the white bottle with the purple top. If it's oil, then we need products. There are two main acne products, I recommend using both. Salicylic acid eats the top layer of oil to dry out everything a bit, and is a bit like an exfoliant. Benzoyl Peroxide will dry you out more and kill bacteria (and bleach your fabrics and hair, so be careful! only use a little!). Use something with salicylic acid as a face wash if you're oily (only a couple times a week probably) and benzoyl peroxide to nuke any individual pimples, especially white heads OR to prevent anything from getting worse if you accidentally pick at something. You only need a 2.5% BP strength, they'll sell anything up to 10%, but it's really unnecessary. As for products, like I said I like Clean and Clear as a moisturizer. Aveno is also good. I like Neutrogena products for daily face cleaning, with a benzoyl peroxide spot treatment for individual zits. Cetaphil is a great daily cleanser that won't leave buildup on your skin and is great for sensitive skin. It doesn't have any acne products in it, but it's great all the same. I know I'm telling you a LOT of probably unnecessary stuff. But everyone's face is different and people tend to get acne for different reasons, so I wanted to kind of throw a lot at the wall and see what sticks for you. :)
cartermia
I use yes to tomatoes/cucumber/carrot. The yes to tomatoes help when I have really bad acne, the cucumber refreshes and cleans away the dirt, and the carrot smells good. They seem to help but not if you use them every night. I hardly ever wash my face with hard cleansers, I usually just scrub a little with water and my acne has never been terrible. I don't wash my face every night, probably about once a week is when I wash it.
NotreDame
Tanning salon... Although that's the solution for a lot of problems here in LA, it still works.
