PhuturePriest
My soulmate is vintage and I found one of the most gorgeous peacoats I've ever seen. The trouble is, I don't know if I should get it in black or in navy blue! I look good in black, but I feel like it might make my skin tone darker. I look really good in blue, and it's gorgeous, but I'm conflicted. I think it's clear as to why I'm so conflicted. I need the opinions of you fine ladies. Guys' opinions will generally not be accepted, as I've noticed whenever I make a thread like this they mostly consist of sarcasm and bad advice. Basilisa Marie
Black looks more formal. Go with black. My boyfriend has a black one almost exactly like that, so I may be biased. :)

Plus, black makes me look kind of goth. :P

Slappo
Get the black. Honestly. It will just match with more of the formal attire you probably own. Can't wear a navy blue pea coat with black slacks. Can wear a black pea coat with pretty much everything but navy blue though. Black pea coats can even go with khaki colors. Slappo
Honestly... the blue peacoat with the black slacks in the picture looks pretty bad....
Immanuel
FB, blue is the classic pea coat color. Go with it.

Basilisa Marie
Things like coats are staples of your wardrobe, and staples of your wardrobe tend to be better when they're a neutral. Unless it's a statement piece. Like my scarlet trenchcoat. :hehe2: But my my peacoats are brown and grey. Black is more of a neutral than navy, because that blue is so vibrant. If you really really love the blue, then get it, because it's more important that you feel confident in it than anything. But if you're genuinely conflicted, I'd go with the black. I prefer the blue, and I would honestly work my wardrobe around it if I had to. But if everyone says the black looks better, I would be a fool not to consider the black. Nihil Obstat
Slappo and Basil are correct. Black is more formal and more versatile.
