EmilyAnn
A while ago I posted a prayer request for my boyfriend's conversion to the Church. Praise God, he is now asking to learn more about the Church and what she teaches. I've pointed him towards the Catechism and the Compendium of the Catechism to start with. I was hoping some of y'all could point me towards some other good resources - books, websites, anything that can help him out. His current knowledge is pretty much at zero. Thank you in advance. And of course, please pray. :)
An Historian
How much do you know about the faith? Honestly the CCC is not the best resource. I would strongly recommend you have him read the old Irish or English penny catechisms or the Baltimore catechism for him to learn the basics and go from there (all three are available online for free). If there are things he needs explained then you can supplement it or you can invite him to the forum to ask his questions. Other than that I cannot help but recommend Father Faber's The Creator and the Creature to get a proper understanding of man's relationship with God. This is also freely available online. Basilisa Marie
Mere Christianity, especially if his knowledge about Christianity is general is next to nothing. I know Red always recommends Catholicism for Dummies, too. Catholic Answers has a pretty good archive of "Ask an Apologist" questions to look through, too. An Historian
Mere Christianity, especially if his knowledge about Christianity is general is next to nothing. Lewis is as likely to convince him the Catholic Church is unnecessary. He wants to learn about Catholicism. Not the dangerous ecumenical effort of Lewis which completely ignores anything Catholic. Eowyn
The Lamb's Supper and Hail, Holy Queen by Scott Hahn were really helpful for me as a convert. Next suggestions sounds kind of weird, but Catholicism for Dummies is helpful. On Being Catholic by Thomas Howard, too.

The gigantic compiled work by Catholic Answers, The Essential Catholic Survival Guide, is a must-read. I can't think of a topic it doesn't cover, to be honest. Anything from contraception and biblical objections to refuting Mormon positions and in vitro fertilization is in there.
TheresaThoma
The CCC can be a bit overwhelming but it honestly is the best source for specific questions. If the normal CCC is too overwhelming then the YouCat would be a good option. Stuff by Scott Hahn is another good place to start.
AnneLine
I realize it isn't specifically CATHOLIC, but, uh... the New Testament?
KnightofChrist
You could download these and copy them to an MP3 player, burn them to a audio or MP3 CD and he could listen to them in the car or wherever. http://www.americancatholictruthsociety.com/articles/sheen.htm

Basilisa Marie
Lewis is as likely to convince him the Catholic Church is unnecessary. He wants to learn about Catholicism. Not the dangerous ecumenical effort of Lewis which completely ignores anything Catholic. That's an interesting take on it. Reading Mere Christianity was actually quite instrumental in helping a friend of mine decide to join the Catholic Church.
Nihil Obstat
I should re-read Mere Christianity. I read it long before I considered myself a 'trad', but shortly after the time I decided to start taking the faith seriously.
