Ancilla Domini
It's all fun and games until the teacher asks you to describe the pontificate of Julius II...
AnneLine
Carl Sagan would have insisted that we are all bits of Star Stuff.... which means God actually created the Sammich (as well as the Earl who gave it his name) when He lighted the world.... and our joy in said sammich HONORS Him! And in charity, we can square up those diagonals and make a gift of the newly squared sammich for our friends... and enjoy the remains ourselves... thus cooperating with our loving Creator!!!! I bet God loves to cook..... LET THERE BE LIGHT!!!!!!!
AnneLine
THAT is a lot of sammiches!

Ancilla Domini
Maybe more like.... Or maybe: "Sir, are you out of your tiny mind?" (Although, naturally, being a perfectly angelic lady, I would never be as rude as that baby. :P)
Pia Jesu
Along with your brilliant analysis, AnneLine, should we remind our Phriends about the deleterious consequences of overindulgence? Reaching for my 2nd. Egg Salad sandwich, I recalled Dante's account (in The Inferno) how he and Virgil entered the Circle of the Gluttonous--who had to lie on the ground as "sewage" rained on them. Yeeeooowww! Our Epicurean Maxim for today: Moderation in all things--even sammiches!

Ancilla Domini
Our Epicurean Maxim for today: Moderation in all things--even sammiches! Brilliant maxim! I agree most wholeheartedly. We must be moderate in the number of sammiches we consume. Reaching for another sammich...
maximillion
Okay, so I permitted myself one food treat from this delicatessen I know. It has to be the most expensive peanut butter in the world, and now....the one treat has turned into LOTS of sammiches which are totally yummy and terribly moreish, and it's lent too!!!!! But honestly, there is something quite......indecent about this stuff. Will never buy it again. Nope....never. (Ahem.) It's Italian. 'Nuff said. Pia Jesu
As James A. Garfield writes of your burro d'arachidi, Max: "Man cannot live by bread alone; he must have peanut butter!" You might enjoy in between sammiches a video titled "The Italian Peanut Butter Mystery" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rkCLnfYAFo
maximillion
oops. My bad, it isn't peanut butter, it's expensive nutella type stuff made with hazelnuts.
AnneLine
I would think that a chocolate nut-butter tasty thing would be VERY appropriate on the Sundays of Lent - Especially the 4th Sunday of Lent!!!!!!! However... now that is over. Back to the plain stuff for six days...
