HisChildForever
I purchased this face mask last Sunday, used it, loved it. Amazing. I used it again today, and HOLY LORD HELP ME. My entire face is bright red and BURNED. I just took 2 Advils to quench inflammation and applied like 5 layers of aloe vera gel. Benadryl might help too, but that knocks me out, and I haven't gone to Mass yet so I need to hold off. I might have to call out of work tomorrow -- I know it sounds lame but you have no idea what my face looks like...10 layers of foundation won't cover this hot mess. My skin is extremely pale to begin with so you can only imagine!! What else can I do??? I'm going to use globs of moisturizer next. Good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so embarrassed because I was just raving to my mom how good this mask is, wait until she sees my face, she'll have a stroke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AnneLine
His Child, That kind of thing happens sometimes. You may have used it too frequently or you could be having an allergic reaction to something in it. I'd hesitate to put too many more chemicals (moisturizer) on there! Can you call a pharmacy or your doctor and get an opinion? Don't laugh about the pharmacy, they may have heard of this before or be able to advise you from the contents of the chemicals whether what you are experiencing is a normal reaction or an allergy, and may be able to suggest a good thing to put on to calm your skin down. Sometimes there are 800 numbers on the packaging (or company's website) that you can call to get the same info. Use them! Your mom will understand if you tell her you have either overused it or had an allergic reaction... it happens. Just let her know it didn't happen the first time, and you'll be wary next time (maybe run a test reaction on an arm or something?) Be wary next time you want to use it -- you may have to wait a few weeks or months between use, or you may be allergic. Just be careful.
CrossCuT
Looks like youre not the only person who has had a similar reaction. A couple of Amazon reviews on the product said they had reactions similar to yours. I bought this thinking it would be good... My face started burning and i had a blister on my forehead!!! Now my whole forehead is peeling. Wont buy again!! This product made my sensitive skin break out even more. I would not purchase again. Product is more of a scrub not a mask. Im sure it is just a sensitivity issue. I have very sensitive, pale skin as well and some cleansers I have used in the past made my entire face look like a tomato and it lasted a couple days until the inflammation went down. But if youre ultra worried about it a call to the doctor wouldnt hurt. Im sure they have some super power strength medicine to give you that might help it go away faster. No "next time" for me, I'm chucking it out! Good idea about the 800 number. I don't think it necessary to get in touch with my doctor though, because THANKFULLY the aloe has gotten rid of a lot of the redness, so I'm thinking maybe it was just intense irritation? It's not itchy and my skin is a bit warm but it's not burning at all, nor was it burning when the mask was on. A bunch of skin care forums say to use aloe, I just put another glob on. With the results I'm seeing, hopefully it'll be much better by tonight... Goodness gracious how embarrassing this is. I work in an all-male correctional facility and I really don't need 500 inmates gawking at me and asking me questions tomorrow!!!
AnneLine
Yes, it does sound a bit  But just smile and say, I am allergic to something and move on. Glad it is nothing more serious. BUT call the 800 number & let 'em know... they may refund the price of your stuff or send you coupons for something....
Comingback
Glad it's getting better. I had something similar happen and Benadryl helped a lot. I get the children's Benadryl and it doesn't knock me out. It's cheap at the Dollar Store.

Yeah I use Cetaphil soap for sensitive skin, it's the ONLY cleanser my face can tolerate. And I moisturize regularly. My face is 95% better now, thanks everyone. :) I waited until the redness went down a lot before I came out of my room...hah. My dad always asks why I use masks because my skin is fine, but I just like being girly. Ah well, lesson learned!!

At least facial skin can heal more quickly than other areas.

Talithacum
Have you tried using benedryl lotion? I found some at a pharmacy and it really helps with allergic reactions when I do not want to be asleep for the next eight hours.
