Maybe it's time to quit getting your news from the Comedy Channel? No, actually, I KNOW that Kerry is the Secretary of State, I'm not a total idiot. :hehe2: If you remember, she was hospitalized in January of last year, and stopped travelling afterwards. Rather they want to prevent the individual public from receiving care they don't agree with. Frame it however you want, the fact remains that if they want to carry out their ministry they'll be forced to violate their consciences. At the heart of the problem is the issue of what counts as religious practice. It's freedom of religion, not freedom of worship. Ok, so maybe you needed an irony smiley in your post as well??? :disguise: She did have some health issues (hit head and fainting spells?) but I don't remember health playing a role in the resignation. She needs to distance herself from Obama and she needs space to fundraise and do her "listening tours" and get a campaign team together for '16. She couldn't do those as Secretary of State. She wasn't really very good as SoS either. Her record from that time will be more burden than benefit. There was no point in getting another 4 years of baggage. Either way, I think for sure she will run, and the "war on women" meme will hang around for a few more years to deflect attacks on both the ACA and Senora Clinton. Semper Catholic Posted January 10, 2014 Share Posted January 10, 2014 That doesn't prove anything to me, save for the fact that not only do you lack a proper understanding of what is a right, you also lack the proper understanding of the meaning of the phrase "forced against one's will", nor do seem to understand that quoting bigoted anti-Catholic, or Pro-Obama propaganda is not stating facts. They never expected to be in the headlines by being part of a class action suit. The press looks for an"angle" and, being identifiable, national, and with a single mission to the elderly poor, the SIsters probably met their criteria. They have been heartened by the amount of support they are receiving, and not surprised by the criticisms. Their ministry lives on prayer and trust in Providence, which has never failed them in any country, including the U.S. since 1868. The Lord hears the cry of the poor.
