dUSt
I got this email. Let me know if you're interested. Good Morning, My name is Cynthia Simpson, Associate Producer for Loud Television, a production company in NYC part of Leftfield Pictures. We work specifically in lifestyle and food programming, and we have created countless hours of original shows for networks such as HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, Cooking Channel, and A&E, to name a few. We are currently working on an exciting new show for a major cable network about ways Food and Religious Faith are deeply connected. This is a upbeat, host-driven show, based in Northern California. The show is a travelogue and will feature a variety of people and places across Northern California and the Bay Area, that are deeply faithful and can cook amazing food! We were wondering if anyone in your community would be interested in our show. If they cook and t have a particular dish or two for which is known amongst friends, family, a community, clientele or a congregation that would be great! We are reaching out to churches, restaurants and networks in the surrounding areas to find that local hidden culinary gem! If interested or maybe have any friends that would fit for what we are looking for and uses food as their outlet for their faith, please feel free to contact me! We are looking to shoot in February. We'd love to talk to people who are creating food that has a literal and meaningful connection to their religion. Thank you in advance for your time and I look forward to hearing from you! NotreDame
Ukranians get really into cooking as a congregation because they use it for fundraising. Tell them to contact this parish or the one in San Fran (also listed on the webpage, it's the same priest): http://stvolodymyrucc.org/ If they come to southern cal my Mom can take them to make kolbasa sausage and nutroll. AnneLine
I have someone for you!!!! Father Xavier Lavagetto, OP, currently at the Stanford University Catholic Community Center. He's the former Pastor of St. Dominic's in San Francisco, and the son of Baseball Legend Cookie Lavagetto! He's a fantastic cook..... and while he was the pastor, every February he cooked (yes HE cooked!) a wonderful meal for the married couples in the parish (and dished up a wonderful renew-your-marriage program as well!) AND a Medieval Meal each August as part of the St. Dominic's Month festivities! Yes, he cooked BOTH meals himself!!!! I bet he'd be open to this!!!!! Dominicans will do ANYTHING to Preach the Word!!!!! I'll PM you his details, dUSt!!!!
