Actual temperature here is -18 right now.

But if you include wind chill it feels like -50

It's -18F for us too. If you are willing to step outside for a few minutes, blowing bubbles is really interesting when it is this cold!

The first video below shows them freezing, the second shows them shattering, the third shows them rolling along the ground.

I wanted to try this today, but apparently we used up all of our bubbles during the summer.

It was COLD today after it rained!  The wet air was made worse by the wind chill and it sent the wind straight through my bones!  I hate when it's like that.  :(

well this chic has to be at work before 8:30am tomorrow; not looking foward to it.  Layers it is.  I'm tempted to wear a sweatshirt -- dress code?  Fugetaboutit!

Good luck!  Working from home tomorrow, heh.  Going to migrate stuff from one online learning shell to another and apply for a Temp Faculty job with my alma mater.

I'm in the Northeast and it got up to 54oF today. I was hoping to get outside and shovel all the slush off the walkways because tonight it's going to get back down to 11oF with wind chills below zero... Huge slabs of ice should be fun to walk on... :stubborn:

-9°F right now with some sort of in-the-negatives windchill... I am walking to work so I have my alpaca socks, my yak trax for my boots, thinsulate gloves & 2 scarves on top of my coat...it's only a five minute walk, but sheesh! :icey:

(it's closer for me to walk than it is to drive & park in the parking lot! :topsy:)

And I'm bringing Starbucks hot chocolate with me...for comfort & fortification once I'm there :coffee:

I stand corrected, windchill is -33°F.

I'm moving in with either NotreDame or Anomaly...

If you pay rent, have an extra bedroom and bath.
It will be high 70's by Friday but will be 34 tonight.

And our State has the BCS National Chamo team as of a few minutes ago...... Edited by Anomaly

My family back in the 'old country' sent me a screen shot of their local weather forecast.  It was -17(!!!) out without windchill.  Everything is shut down and closed:  Schools, stores, roads, everything.  Cops are even ticketing folks for driving.

Meanwhile it's sunny without a cloud in the sky here.  I almost felt a little guilty for not spending more time outside today!

It's in the 20s right now.  I didn't want to get out of bed because I had my warm fleece blanket and thick robe on and was toasty warm.  I'm not looking forward to going outside to brave that wind chill.  With the wind chill, it feels below 20.  :cold: :icey:
