Picking A Saint For The New Year To Pray For You And Walk With You

Cappie,

Thank you for your link and offer.  You may know it but Lil'Red also does this for the Phatmassers at the start of Advent, and I do a similar thing with offering a chance to get a Virtue to Cultivate and a Continent to pray for!

BUT... since this was a nice new year's present from you, I went ahead and got a second saint from this generator... and I am sure my husband will be VERY happy, because this is what I got:

St. Martha

Feast:  July 29

Patronage:  Butlers; Cooks; Dietitians; Domestic Servants; Homemakers; Hotel-Keepers; Laundry Workers; Maids; Servers; Single Laywomen; Travellers

That certainly sounds ALMOST like me... except that I am married!

Why would I want a saint to walk with me as you say?

You don't have to, it's still a free country to choose or not, at least in Australia, don't know about the USA.......

Perhaps why would someone desire that would be a better way to put it. (Maybe explain the meaning to me a little more.)

Australia vs. USA hehe.

My friend "T" (who is not on Phatmass) selected her Saint during Evening Prayer tonight!  She received:

St John of Kanty

Dec 23

Thank you, Cappie!

Thank you so much.

I cannot believe how fitting 'my' saint is - St Jerome Emiliani, patron saint of orphans.

I lost my mother some years ago, and my father passed very recently.

........God works in mysterious ways
