Dominican Nuns Menlo Park
Mary, Our Mother, the One who gave birth to God. Gothic - Art of Illumination by our Sister Mary of the Holy Spirit, O.P. On this first day of the year, we joyfully and gratefully celebrate the Solemnity of the Mother of God, who is also our Mother. We thank God for all the blessings received this past year and ask that he continues to enlighten the eyes of our hearts to know his love, his mercy, and his presence in each other and in our world. Below is a link to a beautiful chant of the Sub Tuum Praesidium which I can't seem to import. It was sung by the Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos: Sub Tuum Praesidium The Dominican saints in heaven under Mary’s mantle – fresco at San Domenico in Santa Sabina, Italy Under thy protection we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our needs, but from all dangers deliver us always, Virgin Glorious and Blessed. A very blessed and happy 2014!
