I have to admit, I'm not keeping up well enough with either situation to really know...

TPBM is trying to get in lots of homemade desserts before Lent starts!

Well we did convince our one housemate to make banana bread.... so sorta?

TPBM is very happy that they have convinced the group they pray with to chant LOTH

Nope. But I would love to chant the LotH.

TPBM has been nervous about writing to a religious community for the first time about discernment.

Ha ha ha...funny story...I'm a convert and I'd wanted to be a nun for a while but had no idea how to go about it. At my Confirmation interview, my priest asked me if I'd thought of being a nun. I said, "Yes!" and he said, "Great! I'll get you in touch with a Vocations Director, you'll LOVE her." Then, three months later, I hadn't heard anything so I went back to his office, and he said "OH you want to be a nun? That's wonderful! I'll get you in touch with a Vocations Director, you'll LOVE her."

Then, several weeks after that, he gave me the number!! So I freaked out a little for a month or two, even visited a psychologist to be sure there wasn't anything majorly wrong with me that might be an impediment to religious life, and finally I cradled the phone in my sweaty little hand and actually dialed all the numbers!!

"This is Ron," said the guy on the other end.

"Sorry, wrong number."

So my priest asked if I'd ever called the Vocations Director, and I said, "Yes, but it was Ron," and he said, "RON? Who's Ron? Maybe I gave you the number to a bar and grill?"

I did eventually get the correct number, and I really, really, really didn't like the place he was trying to send me, but its the thought that counts. After that, I realized that you can just write to whatever community you like, you don't have to go through a priest or Vocations person.

The Person Below Me is laughing at me right now.

Oh yeah!

TPBM doesn't think I'm crazy to want to go and pray the Rosary in the nearby cemetery.

Well hopefully it never raises it's ugly head again and stays in hell so yes. Talking about some conflict i have had with a couple of sins.

TPBM enjoys a little coconut water and believes the natural world is very good.

Well, I wrote a word down in Greek last night, because we had a theologian giving a talk on marriage (it was really good, and I think I love exegesis) and I was taking notes and she was talking about the word for submission in Ephesians 5. So I guess I can write a little bit of Greek. But I'm not good with the lowercase letters, so I don't know. And I don't know all the capitals either. So it really depends.

TPBM has spring fever.

It's at the wrong times though.... I like having Mass at 8:00 AM every day I go. (It's been rough this school year because it's a 15-25 minute walk to get there and I have a class at 9 AM on the days that daily Mass is offered. But I can't drive anywhere else, because I have no car.)
