CatholicsAreKewl
If you are so impressed, when are you converting? Hahaha, I hope my understanding is completely off. The concept of politically savvy religious leaders is kinda weird to me. Edited December 29, 2013 by CatholicsAreKewl
Freedom
Everywhere I turn I read from friends who are as far from Catholic that can be to left wing, socialist blogs how Pope Francis states that "all religions are true" that there is no hell Pope Francis said that? NotreDame
Pope Francis said that? And he said we can be gay and have women priests. Haven't you been paying attention?

AnneLine
I think they might be pulling your leg, Freedom... but there certainly have been some who have pulled Pope Francis' words into shapes like that.....

I ran across that satire article that the OP is referring to. If you read the whole thing, you'll learn that Cardinal Arinze has the Catholic Church and become a Sedevacantist. The satire makes it abundantly clear that people don't want a pope who agrees with them. What they want is not a pope at all. Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
If you are so impressed, when are you converting? Buh. Pope francis also said words to this effect " I am not here to convert you." We had a long discussion upon these words of the holy father here at phatmass. I came to the conclusion that he didn't say he wouldn't talk about faith, hope and love, his strengths and experiences, but that his intention is not to convert because inevitably conversion is between The Lord and the individual. Unsure we should push people for marriage, the priesthood or conversion. Jokingly or not. Onward christian souls. Jesus iz LORD.
