Sweettooth
Frist off, I want to say HI to everyone snice I am new. I know during Pope Francis homily he mentioned "homemade peace." I am slightly confused by that. Peace I get, The homemade part not so much.
Clare Brigid
Merry Christmas, Sweettooth. I watched the Holy Father's homily live and I've read it at the Vatican Web site, but I see no reference to homemade pace. The homily is here: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/francesco/homilies/2013/documents/papa-francesco_20131224_omelia-natale_en.html Pax, Clare
CatherineM
Didn't hear that, but if I had to guess, I'd say he meant we have to make peace with each other rather than wait for someone else to do it for us. As an example, mediation agreements which are voluntary are complied with at a much higher rate than court orders that are legally inforceable. It's because the parties feel that they are part of the process so they own the agreement. Peace agreements forced down people's throats don't hold the peace for long. Sweettooth
Catherine M. I must have tired when I heard it and that seems like a better explanation than what I thought I heard.
brandelynmarie
I like the idea of homemade peace...it would be like a warm, hand-knitted sweater, fresh chocolate chip cookies & a cup of tea or maybe a gift of a little one's drawing.... ;)
AnneLine
I was half-expecting someone was making a reference to the recipe for family happiness: Recipe for a happy family is combine a family of loving hearts, melt together, add a lot of love, mix well with respect and trust and then add calmness, laughter, faith, hope, and joy. Then pour in much intelligence, sprinkle with kisses and a dash of hugs, bake for a lifetime and the yield will be one happy family.
