Carp Catching Contest

So carp are an invasive pest that has no respect for the local fish in australia, unlike the trout, and they muddy up the waters by scrummaging around at the bottom of the rivers stirring up silt, and although edible are very bony and hard to eat unless your an expert in carp cooking,filleting etc and supposedly taste like mud. So i was thinking about a carp catching contest where we catch as many carp as possible and there will be some kind of reward for the most carp caught. After catching the carp in australia there are three choices, leave it on the river bank to die gasping for air, slit it's throat and leave it on the river bank, there is no throwing the carp back into the water, it is illegal. The other choice is an old asian trick on how to successfully prepare carp and that is to catch the carp, put it in a bucket of water than take it home and leave it in the bath tub or basin for 24 hours in fresh water and somehow and i don't know how i have never done it i just have the knowledge, somehow the mud leaves the carp in that period of time.
