Byzantine
The Phorum Guidelines contain the following: THE WINCHESTER LINE Winchester is a phounding member of the phorum, and the originally established source for phatmass morality–not subject to the same rules as other members. His posts are always right on the line between warn/not warn. His mastery of walking the line when it comes to the rules is what we refer to as “The Winchester Lineâ€. The Winchester Line, by definition, is our barometer when trying to decide between warning a member and not warning a member. Since Winchester is the source of The Winchester Line, it is functionally impossible for him to be warned–and therefore, banned. Doing so would destroy our entire warning system. Ordinarily, this may work just fine. But consider this: What if Winchester were to somehow become puritanical in terms of his posting, with the result that anything even mildly humorous would result in a warning? Think about it: Do you really want to risk getting warned for posting a Grumpy Cat meme? DUSt, our dear webmaster, I am fairly certain that you, as well as the esteemed MIKolbe, would end up in the terrible position of having to be warned yourselves. Therefore, in order to avoid such a catastrophe, I move that the Winchester Line be abolished in favor of some sort of an objective standard. Winchester
Poor thing has gone off his nut. Completely delirious. No Winchester line? Thank God it stands, and stands forever forever. A thousand years from now, Byzantine, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, it will continue to make glad the heart of Phatmass.

Since Winchester is the source of The Winchester Line, it is functionally impossible for him to be warned–and therefore, banned. Bingo, I have found it. He has been warned 25 times. http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/topic/131625-a-matter-of-public-record-most-warned-people-on-phatmass/?p=2630736 This goes to show that the Winchester Line is not so much a literal telling of the rules as much as it is a mythological aspect of Phatmass. Long after Winnie is gone, Phatmass members will talk of that noble beast, brighter than a yeti, who roamed those phorums, known only as Winnie (The Pooh). They shall tell of his biting wit, his brilliant lines, his obsession with honey that made him too fat to fit through an average door. Oh what a sad day indeed... It was the last time Eeyore ever wore his spiffy suit and tie, the one that used to get him so much attention. Phatmass members of the future would surely Roo the day... NotreDame
This forum is one of the best in terms of allowing discussions to take place and not censoring certain topics. I'd view the winchester rule as part of the site's personality, not a damaging double-standard. I'm not sure what happened so can't comment beyond that. Regardless, do continue to post. Gotcha. Though you went a little Rabbit with the puns. I'm not sure what happened Nothing has happened... yet. But when the day comes when there is a warning for posting a Blimey Cow video because it offends Winchester's taste, don't say I didn't warn you. CatholicsAreKewl
Winchester should change his name to The Winchester Line, so we'd have to call it "the The Winchester Line line". Better yet, have him change it to, "The Winchester Line Line". Then it could be The Winchester Line3 Edited December 21, 2013 by Not The Philosopher
