Female Portrayal In Film: Infograph

I don't need an infographic to know that females are seldom portrayed well in films. It's one of the reasons I found movies like the new Star Trek: Into Darkness rather obnoxious (I mean, besides the lens flares). It's also one of the reasons I've become very attached to movies by Hayao Miyazaki, who generally is much more aware of the reality of true masculinity and femininity.

A lot of times studies tell us things that we already know, but the key is that it was officially looked into by the New York Academy of film. Yeah its not a big surprise but its nice to see that its been written down and noticed officially.

I also agree with Miyazaki, he is awesome! I love a ton of his films!

Interesting. It's odd that it's more acceptable to see naked women than it is to see naked men. I watched a documentary that talked about the depiction of female orgasms in movies and how they were more likely to warrant an nc-17 rating than depictions of male orgasms.
