New Bishop

My diocese finally has a new bishop, John Doerfler! I'm so excited!

I think the diocese of Minneapolis/St.Paul might be getting something like this.

 

I  heard on the radio yesterday that apparently our Archbishop was accused of touching a boy's butt during a photo shoot after confirmation. He has since denied the claim, stepped down, and called for a full investigation.

I wouldn't be expecting a new bishop anytime soon, given the circumstances surrounding the accusations.

 

The Bishop freely stepped aside so as to allow the investigation to occur without hinderance. In doing so, he is following his diocesan policy regarding acquisitions of sexual abuse with a minor. He is also calling for and being transparent toward criminal investigations. Needless to say, these would not seem the actions of a guilty man. 

 

It is especially interesting how he had the foresight to have a deliberate and consistent pose during confirmation pictures to prevent exactly against such accusations.

Yeah thats how I feel. I am just upset that people are so trigger happy with accusations. I have been through the same confirmation process at the Cathedral when all the kids stand on the sanctuary steps and take a photo. They cram the kids in tight to fit for the picture so there are multiple opportunities for bumping into others or brushing etc. Its likely just a misinterpretation of something that happened.

Or, quite possibly, it is simply a false accusation with malicious intent rather than an innocent misinterpretation.

After a year without a Bishop my diocese was assigned a new Bishop a few months ago! Beautiful ceremony! If you have an opportunity to attend DO NOT miss it! Most people cried, it was an amazing opportunity to be there!
