TheresaThoma
Wish I could come along but I think this Advent to candlemas for me will be rather busy. Between finals, christmas, visiting my sister, moving. training for new job, and getting settled in at new job there isn't a lot of time in there for reading. Maybe over the summer though if we do another summer one!

ChristinaTherese
Oh. I guess I read about 5 pages of an article called Extrametricality and Stress in Polish by Steven Franks. (You can find it on JStor, a wonderful resource.) More articles coming up today.... Does skimming my notebook for the next final count?
ChristinaTherese
13 pages (out of 30 in the article) from: Cyran, E., & Gussmann, E. (1999). Consonant clusters and governing relations: Polish initial consonant sequences. In H. van der Hulst & N. A. Ritter (Eds.), The syllable: Views and facts (219-248). Berlin, Germany: Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co. One more article to come today, and then I'll be done. I suppose I'm not reading my paper, so it doesn't count.... I'm not reading it if I can get away with that. I only have so much time and I have a final to finish in that time too.... And there are only two more pages left to write to be inside the parameters for the paper. (I'll probably do more than that bare minimum.) AnneLine
You know... I think we should let all students claim 200 pages for 'Final Exam Review Reading' You don't have to document pages, or indicate subjects.... your hard work should be honored. So.... I know we have at least 4 of you on here... .just let us know if you want to claim your 'Final Exam Review Reading' Credit!!!! (Kind of like an income tax credit... freely available to all who qualify!) Edited December 9, 2013 by AnneLine
AnneLine
MY Book: Completed - Kaleidoscope by Dorothy Gilman, 241 pages. NOT as good as the Mrs. Pollifax series books or The Tightrope Walker... but it had its moments. Premise a little weak.... Glad I read it, however, because it was the only one I still had not read -- she died in the last year or two, and it was kind of a thank-you read. I would definitely recommend The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax....

ChristinaTherese
It was easier to cut and paste, since I was cutting and pasting the whole thing anyway. Oh, and owl.english.purdue.edu is the best thing ever. ETA: And there's no way I'm reading a whole 200 pages, or writing that many. But I guess I'll take the credit.... AnneLine
Good. That is the point of the credit... to encourage people to do the job/task/work! When I was in grad school (right after 2001).... they had this crazy tax credit on the books for just 4 years.... it let you take an income tax credit for ANY tuition or fees for training above the high school level if it was at a college or approved school. It meant I was able to get the grad school classes almost for free!!!!!! What a gift! So... I kinda think this works the same way.... encourage you all to focus on getting through finals and papers and get some extra credit!!!!!
