ToJesusMyHeart
Pro Infirmis, an organization for the disabled, created a series of mannequins based on real people with physical disabilities, working with individuals like Jasmine Rechsteiner, a Miss Handicap winner who has spine malformations, and Erwin Aljukić, an actor with brittle bone disease. The project's title? "Because Who Is Perfect? Get Closer." The beautiful process was documented in a video (watch it below), capturing the joy of the models seeing their own unique figures recreated for the first time. But the best part of it all is that the mannequins were actually placed in store windows today, filling the shopfronts on Zurich's main downtown street, Bahnhofstrasse, in honor of International Day of Persons with Disabilities today. http://youtu.be/E8umFV69fNg

AnneLine
God is indeed all beautiful.. but all things are beautiful in that they reflect God in different ways. The joy on the faces of the individuals is a total reflection of God's Joy!
EmilyAnn
This really moved me. Thank you so much for sharing it. I work in a shop and the mannequins are so ridiculous. I have to pin clothes at the back because they're too big on the mannequins, even when I put something that is a size 8 (size 4 in the US) on. Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
But beauty is a perfection, hence why God is beautiful. :harhar: I agree no bodies perfect, i have met virtues disabled peoples and some not so virtues. But i do like to hear that there are disabled cat walks and not just abled, it think it is great and hopefully a moral booster for the disabled people that feel left out because of there disabilities. i<3franciscans
I saw this a couple days ago and found it to be so touching. However, I think the real question is how long did they keep up the mannequins, you know? Was is just for the video? I thought it was kind of sad when the people passed would laugh... made them seem shallow.
