Anastasia13 Posted November 29, 2013 Share Posted November 29, 2013 (edited) I hear corruptions and problems around this country, poverty, materialism, disputes, etc. It's dulling to one's patriotism. I'm ashamed of some things in this country and that we have done. When I think of what America means, I think of something different. Today I was thinking about the first Thanksgiving, when the pilgrims had come here to have religious freedom. Christianity is a highly persecuted religion in many countries, but not so much in mine. I am thankful to have the opportunity to worship God as I know and understand Him. I've heard immigrants still saying that this is the greatest country in the world, and while I'm not sure if the greatest still stands, we are among the greatest. Our declaration of independence states, "We hold these truths to be self- evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are, life liberty, and pursuit of happiness." I see in that a respect for the value and dignity of mankind (though I am glad this is extending more toward all people). They had them all the time. Official big T Thanksgiving as we know it was established by Lincoln to express gratitude to God for preservation of the Union during the Civil War. FDR tried to change the date to the next to last Thursday instead of the last one ; he was accused of dissing Lincoln, the compromise was that it would be the 4th Thursday, which was sometimes the last Thursday and sometimes not.More importantly, Reagan established the turkey pardon. gobble gobble. Also i love what i know about George Washington, which is very little but what i heard about his life is beautiful. Is a Kind Of related to the Alot? I'll have to come up with a picture of the Kind Of, unless you already got one at the zoo. I can see that you need to be introduced to the fabulous culture and fine cuisine of the northeast. Ranch dressing goes on just about anything like pizza, salad (of course), and most definitely french fries. It is a delicacy. Yes, yes, yes... to all of this! I'm quite serious actually. Ranch dressing is a staple here. I'm also flabbergasted that you don't like cheese :eek: I love cheese! Are you my long lost triplet? (I already have a "twin.") Cheese is my favorite food! I'm quite serious. Ranch dressing tastes like goat pee. :P And I hate cheese. It's nasty. And you know what goat pee tastes like, how? :huh: I have the most amazing recipe for ranch dressing you'll ever come across. It's super easy to make. If you want it, PM me. :) Ooh, do want! Voila, madam: Ranch Dressing Makes 1 1â„2 cups 1 c mayonnaise 1â„2 c buttermilk 1â„2 t dried chives 1â„2 t dried dill weed 1â„4 t garlic powder 1â„4 t onion powder 1/8 t salt 1/8 t ground black pepper Blend tog all ingreds.
