When Im packing for a trip, I like to walk through my daily routine in my head and recall all the things I do. That way I remember all the things I do in the day so I dont forget anything!

Oh my goodness, I love those pillows!

And definitely. I plan to buy jerkey, as jerkey is one of my most favorite foods ever.

You may want to bring a food that doesn't scream "gastrointestinal upset and constipation"

I can't say I've ever had that problem with jerky.

Chargers for all devices you are taking with you. My favorite thing to do is bring a car charger and wall charger with a USB plug in and then the appropriate USB to whatever (mini USB/ ipod) cord. It keeps the number of things I have to keep track of to a minimum. Also make sure all your devices (phone, ipod, camera etc) have a full charge before you leave.

Something I like to do so I don't forget things like deodorant is keep the bag that I use in the bathroom. Then the morning of the trip when I am getting ready just drop each thing in the bag after I use it. (Ie once I brush my teeth I put the toothbrush and tooth paste in the bag). That way I know that I will have everything I normally use.

Incidentally, I have been going back and forth on trips for the past few weeks, so my toothbrush and everything never left the ziplock bag they were in. :P

I think the sorts of things you'll need are somewhat specific to where you are going.

For flying on a plane sweats are great because planes tend to get cold.

If you are going somewhere cold than warm comfortable socks are a must. I love hiking socks.

If you are going somewhere hot and tropical than don't worry about socks. Wear sandals or some sort of slip on "water shoe" like Keen. And the boxer type of underwear that they sell at REI is great. It is lightweight and dries in seconds. In a hot climate you won't want to wear any other type of underwear.

And make sure you bring a raincoat. Whether you go to a hot or cold place.

Soul free from mortal sin: As of twenty minutes ago, check.

It was actually really cool. Because I'm weird, I've always wanted to have a confession outside, and today, my weird dreams came true. I asked Father to hear my confession and give me a blessing for the trip, and he led me outside of the church and heard my confession.

I almost had a confession outside once. But I'd left something inside the church because I just ran out to chase the priest who had promised to hear my confession after Mass but then forgot, and the door locked behind me, so I pointed out to Father that whether or not he thought it would be very nice outside I needed to get back in to get my stuff.
