ThomasPeter
tonight i was wondering what the sspx thought was so worng with the Catholic church as it is now. so i went to their web site (www.sspx.org) to find out. while there i came across a lot of things that drew questions in my mind, one was about Mary. in the Q&A section is a question on wether or not consacration to "Our Lady" is wrong. in responce was this: http://www.sspx.org/Catholic_FAQs/catholic...ionofthirdorder the line taht most got me was, "In this way, it is desirable to mention that I am a third order member or that I have made the total consecration to Jesus through Mary." so what do they mean by this? thank you very much tom ps- i might have some more questions from what i saw tonight, if thats ok. thanks again
Laudate_Dominum
Members of the SSPX whom I have know have a strong devotion to Mary. About the link you gave, I read it and think all they are saying is that if you have made promises or vows in a third order, or if you have made a solemn Marian consecration it can be good to mention this in the confessional. This would be important if the sin you are confessing is also an infidelity to your specific vows or promises, or includes irresoluteness with regard to your Marian consecration. God bless.
