Never mind I guess, since I just got a call from my mom saying that since I'm begging I get to go, and money will work out somehow. (I might give an unsolicited donation of what I can afford anyway, although she said I don't need to.) prayers still appreciated about it not being on Wednesday though. And all the projects I have coming due around then. (I told one of my profs what's going on, so I still think I can get leniency from him if I need it.) Flying out with my parents, so I don't even need to find a friend who can drive me to the airport. TT, that sounds like a great idea. I think I'll do it if I can find the time.... AnneLine, I'm still waiting for more information about St. Therese and her parents.... And tonight I have pizza, play trivial pursuit, and watch a play with the other honors students on campus. I've just been SUPER busy, but now I have my turkey in the oven (don't ask, my Husband picked itup with a coupon!) and I will take a little time to answer! I had said: Ask St. Therese and her parents, Bl. Louis and Bl. Zelie, to intercede for you and your family. They went through a lot of what you are describing, and I know they will watch over you..... ask for more details if you are curious.... Almost everyone knows St. Therese of the Child Jesus. What a lot of people don't know is that she came from an incredibly holy family, and that both her parents, Louis and Zelie Martin, have been beatified... and that the cause of her sisters is also being considered. I did a novena for one of he Phatmass Mothers, ArchaeologyCat, a while back, asking Bls. Louis and Zelie to intercede for her son, Leo, who was very sick and was facing possible surgery. During the Novena I included a lot of information about Bl. Louis and Zelie, and also about her sisters. It also has a LOT of nice videos, etc. that were incorporated. I talk about them in more detail in that thread ^^, but here is a quick summary: Both Zelie and Louis had wanted to go into religious life, but God had other ideas. They ended up having 9 children, only 5 of whom lived to adulthood. One year, in addition to dealing with the loss of children, they also had losses among their own parents--3 in one year, I believe! Zelie ran her home, but she also ran a big lace-making business.... AND during the Franco Prussian war, they had soldiers living with them! And Zelie was sick with the cancer that would kill her when Therese was only 4 years old. So they know what it was to be stressed. Both Louis and Zelie know what stress is like... and I know they will take good care of you! Look over what was in the thread above -- especially the section on Bl. Louis' final illness, and the connection between that and devotion to the Holy Face.... and let me know if you have more questions! Praying for you! It was good to be there, AND it was good to see my cousins again and their kids. It's been a long time. I'm tired now, it's late, so I'm going to bed.... AnneLine, I'd be glad to send a PM with more. I'm just typing on my phone and very tired. I got up at 2:15 AM west coast time (but we were in Witchita, Kansas) and now it's 10:15 or so... I slept on planes, but I'm still exhausted. ETA: remember how I said money was a problem? Because we flew out of a different airport, it cost hardly any more for me to go with my parents than for them to leave me behind.
