Starets
Are there any men's religious orders who concentrate on hospital/hospice work or related work for the sick? It is for the sake of an aquaintance of mine who is actually Orthodox but asked me about Roman Catholic orders. He's American, he joined a greek orthodox monastery in Greece but is back in the states getting a nursing degree.

Off the top of my head, there is the Friars of the Sick Poor in California. www.friarsofthesickpoor.org Edited November 3, 2013 by MaterMisericordiae

reminiscere
This has already been posted, but I would say the Brothers of Mercy: http://www.brothersofmercy.org/about.htm. Their novice master is now a young religious and would be very happy to help with discernment.
