TheresaThoma
Ooo I like the suggestion about having them try to pick out the bible passages throughout the liturgy (might be a good exercise for us Catholics as well!)
Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
This will teach me to not confirm the day before. Must try to convert... err... share with the Protestant again when opportunity strikes. Love primary, convert secondary. Sharing is Good though, we must share what we believe in, everyone does that even non christians whether it's sports, hobbies, work etc, whatever they preach they preach something too. I like to call it reaching not preaching and that can't be done with judgement, condemnation etc etc it can only be done with love, though we must say we think something is wrong if we think something is wrong without judgement or condemnation with love in faith and the hope of heaven for our self and the person we are trying to reach. :) Hope that all helps. God bless you L&T, and these are all just my opinion, no one has ever taught me how to evangelize except the Gospels, the holy sacraments and various priests from the pulpit and perhaps the holy mother through meditating and i say meditating on the mysteries of the holy rosary. John Ryan
Tell them to stay in the pew during communion. And maybe do not respond with everybody else if you do not believe it yourself. There is nothing wrong with sitting there and listening, taking everything in.
Basilisa Marie
Grab the missalette in the pew and follow along with the order of mass and the readings with them, so they can better understand what's going on. It depends on the Protestant, though. Lutheran worship is very similar to a Catholic mass, while a non-denominational person might only be used to something similar to a praise and worship concert, or just watching a televangelist on tv. Know your audience. And I like the idea of staying in the pew with them if they seem uncomfortable or nervous during communion. And then ask them what they thought about it afterward, but don't try to shove a lot of theology at them right away. :) Read their social cues and operate on their terms.
