And... what are you pondering releasing, L&T?

Capitalization (draft was sent to me in all caps).

(I am starting with a draft before I write my own.)

If there is something I should know that looking up media releases (I mix up the terms here but the draft says media release) that looking up would benefit.

Oh, did you mean what is it about? A candidate my other candidate is involved in mutually supporting. I have a couple campaigns I am involved in now. Pray for me. Next year will be crazy, but God-willing, crazy amesome. I could grow a lot here, even if my candidates don't quite get into a position where they can hire me themselves after the election day. Discipline, knowledge, skills, etc. I think everyone who has not and does not do sales should do a campaign at least once in their lifetime.

My US Senate candidate was a complete idiot and paranoid.  He'd not let me publish his schedule of speaking events online, for fear of protesters.  Plus the interview for the position felt more like a seminary one than a campaign job. x.x

You totally got one of those moral issue Republicans, didn't you?

Highest I've done is House of Reps, and that was a volunteer last time, phones, precinct walks, that sort of thing. This election season, I am determined to dig further in on some campaign, and stumbled into opportunity.

Hurray for stumbling into opportunity!! :)

And yes I did, he was a family friend.  He was a walking stereotype.  Anti-union, pro-life, Creationist, Evangelical, pro-war, anti-environment, etc.  I ran his website and he refused to tell me the name of who ran his Facebook page so we could even try to coordinate.

I'm more fond of the crazy ones than the stereotypes. Perhaps that's another reason why I am an independent.

Did he lose?

"What he had here was a failure to communicate."

90% sure I was the only registered Democrat working for his campaign lol.  And he lost horribly; it is my belief he got the number of votes he did, because he shared the first name of his Democratic opponent.

And woot for being the Independent, you can be the outsider on everyone's campaign then.  And not be accused of being too much like the other party.

I think I have everything right, but I don't quite know about the name of an organization that seems strange to me but I can't verify. I know it needs to go out soon. I'm not sure what to do. I overthink this too much, but this is my first one.

God the Father

I used to do press releases every week in college when I worked in marketing for a nightclub.

The purpose of the release is going to color your tone. We were usually "selling" something so I usually used language that wouldn't typically appear in a strictly informative piece.

In general, stick to the 5 Ws (Who, What, When, Where, Why) and keep it as short as possible while still accomplishing your supervisor's intent, since print space/air time is scarce and precious or whatever.
