r2Dtoo
Whenever Nhil posts the word "Stahp" in one of you threads it means your spamming.
Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
Heya Tab - I'd say most of us are probably a bit reluctant to pass ourselves off as authorities on the rules. Might be worth contacting a moderator via PM? None of us can explain with authority what is allowed and what is not, only the people with authority can give you the right answer there. OR... don't get so hung up on the rules (don't set out to break'em, either) but act in good conscience and hope for the best. Looks to me like you'll get a warning if you're doing something wrong (based on the recently published list of warning tallies ;) ), in which case humbly accept correction and learn from it, but don't take it personally. Does that help a bit more? Thanks catherine but i am asking the mods or anyone that knows what it is exactly considered as spamming which i actually assume they mean flooding and i may be wrong. I don't know or understand phatmassers understanding of what this is and that is why i'm asking anyone whom knows including any mods who would like to clear this up. But i get the hint about pm a mod but i'm pretty scared of pming people in phatmass after an incident i had, i'm scared i will be accused of being a stalker or beating people up in private message and stuff, and that's why i'm keeping it public now except for people i know and people who 1st get here and people whom pm me, mods inclusive even though i do respect/consider everything they tell me in pm, but i can't consider this effectively because i don't have the details of what exactly spamming is, please forgive me i'm new to blogs, this is only my 2nd blog site ever and the 1st one i only posted in about 10 times and went back to yahoo, and i can't yahoo anymore because supposedly the administration of yahoo are pro porn. Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
well some of these things aren't really hard and fast rules... just sort of 'you know it (and we get a bunch of reports in about it) when you see it. they're more socially acceptable norms than they are rules per se. so the advice given here has been pretty good... because these aren't things that are going to be dictated to you by the mods... when the general phatmass population has the general sense that you're clogging up the boards and filling up their threads, you're generally violating dUSt's informal "don't ruin my website" rule ;) the worst thing to do is the constant replying to yourself in other peoples' threads. the other thing is try not to flood the board (especially open mic) with a bunch of new threads, suggestions here have been good, especially noting that in the lame board there's a bit more leeway for that sort of thing. if you start one thread and keep all your replying to yourself confined to there, no one's really going to be bothered so much. generally I recommend thinking about a post longer before you actually click the post button, since you always blame your multi-posts on the fact that you want to add something to a post.... one long post is better than ten short ones in succession... though long posts might get passed over depending on where they are and if people want to read them. spam is basically floods of "unwanted" posts... so that's a subjective definition that's really up to the general consensus of the community here. take your cues from the times that you have been told to 'stop spamming' and try not to post in those patterns... the general advice being given here has a good pulse on the sense of the community as to what level and kind of posting people would find more acceptable... Fianlly, thakyou, a mod has finally given me a practical indefinite guide line as to what is and what isn't spamming, you have now cleared this up for me. Alleluia. And thankyou everyone else for your input too, i know what spamming to phatmass is now. Alleluia. And i honestly didn't know exactly what was meant by spamming and what the parameters for phatmass are, now i know so i doubt it will happen again.
