BarbTherese
My original thread is consigned to archives and no longer accessible. I'm just back from my (priest religious and superior) spiritual director who has approved my rule of life. He has already spoken, he said, to the Vicar General about me and the VG decided to speak to the Archbishop. The next step my SD advises is that he will make an appointment to speak with our VG (after he has spoken to His Grace) and then let me know the outcome. It is all quite truly overwhelming as I did not expect things to go this far by a long shot nor where it is all going in any which way direction nor why, All I can do is prayerfully wait the outcome. I was hoping that Father would approve the rule and agree to bless Bethany (and these he has done)- also say a private (in hope)Mass after which I would renew my life private vows and this last hope is now in the hands of our VG and Archbishop is seems. I had thought it would all begin and end with my SD alone and no fuss and bother involved - but Father says there is no fuss and bother and his assessment of the way things should go and I did leave it all entirely in his hands. Alberto Guimaraes
Peace and Good! I also did private vows, when I joined the Secular Franciscan Order; - To Pray the Liturgy of Hours, like a true religious one. - To dress the holy habit of the SFO (nowadays a don' t more dress it, because the habit was suprpessed by superior order). It supposed a brown tunic without hood, tied with the franciscan chord with the three knots, and a brown mantle. - To go barefoot whenever possible, and when it' s not possible I put on sandals or another simple and poor footwear, except when the social circumstances oblige me to put on shoes or boots. BarbTherese
I fell across my original thread outside of Phatmass means http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/topic/130206-taking-the-faith-to-the-streets/#.UnG4VDYbpLM. It originally appeared in Vocation Station, which I had forgotten and went searching in Open Mic. Although with the Vicar General and His Grace being made aware, I don't know where I am until I hear back from my SD. At least my rule is approved by my director. I really did hope to bypass all Church 'officialdom' and keep things entirely on a private level. Plans of mice and men and all that. :) I guess I shall see what I shall see and wait prayerfully until then. Prayer always appreciated. :)
