For Those Who Support Anarchy As A Form Of Government

Slowly, because of you, I have become more and more anarchistic in thought. My mother is going to disown me and I'll die a shell of a man who never got a girl because he had mommy issues. Is that what you want?

Anarchists are edgy and cool. You'll get a badass girlfriend.

I take it you got a badass wife and can therefore confirm this?

I wasn't an anarchist when I met her. I got a nice wife.

I'm not mandating that the weak starve. I'm merely saying that no one possesses the right to force people to help others. I don't advocate social darwinism, either.

This is why I answer your question with the reason. You're asking about a consequence of a principle. I tell you the principle so that you can then realize that if a society were built upon the rejection of aggression, then help would be purely voluntary. I cannot make you feed the poor. If I get a bunch of people together, I don't believe the right to make you feed the poor would manifest. Do you need a threat of force to make you feed the poor?

So now it has come down to the fact that we are ok with the poor suffering and dying for our political satisfaction? When did political views outweigh our obligations as Christians?

Im pretty sure it mentions something about helping the poor over a thousand times in the Bible...

Im not the most political person but this subject has always left me wreathing in frustration. People seem to be politicians first and Christians second. The fact that we are so willing to risk the livelihoods, dignity, and safekeeping of the poor, weak, oppressed, and sick for our political interests is just appalling.

Unless you have some better solution to enact the moment these aid programs go away, I think it is almost sinful to throw these people out into the cold. And no one knows for certain that enough good Samaritans will turn up when this anarchy hits to make up for the same aid the government haded out...but youre willing to chance it? Because you feel oppressed with taxes that fulfill your christian mission? (Of course not all taxes go towards things we support, but I speak of this example specifically.)

I just dont even know. I will support helping the poor until this world hurtles into the sun. To me that is more important.

I've not said one word against helping the poor or in favor of not helping the poor.

Of course, youre just in favor of throwing them into the unknown so you dont have to be oppressed with the taxes that help them.

No. I reject that anyone possesses the authority to force others to help. You have no earthly idea what I do to aid people. Your interpretation of my motivation says more about you than it does about me.

I'd calm down. It's one thing to question a political ideology, but it's another to put someone's Christianity into question. Jesus spoke about helping the poor always. He did not in any way advocate that through force of government.

So the government shouldnt help the poor?

I don't believe the government has the right to force people to help the poor. If government officials want to make a fund out of their pockets in support of the poor, that's wonderful. But who are you to force someone to give money to the poor?
