What just happened

I don't know. I do know, however, that a majority of the women on here said yes, so that's nice to think about.

Youre a handsome young man! I wouldnt worry about not finding a lady FP!

Just make sure that when they start crawling all over you, you pick the best one!

The good looks aren't what I'm worried about; it's keeping them once I have their attention that I might struggle with. :P

I would date slightly shorter than myself.

I'm going to speculate that on a forum like this, there is a slightly different set of relationship values applied to dating that the mainstream, thus skewing the results a little. It would be interesting to compare results here to those on a secular forum.

Catholics should marry other Catholics(short medium or tall) but the church understands if you don't but if you don't you run the risk of losing your Catholicism over time, though you still may be a believer but perhaps no longer a catholic christian, although it is not an exact it's a high risk.. If you like a non catholic christian i hope they convert, and if they don't i hope they encourage you going to holy mass and other catholic stuff without compromise. That's all i have to say on the whole dating and marriage height thing. There was one bracketed thing about height so i'm not totally off topic. lol ( lots of love).

Onward christian souls.

Jesus iz LORD.

That's what I was thinking when I made the poll (With what little thought came into it, anyway), and the results speak for themselves. 71% on Match.com said no, whereas on here twelve said yes, and only five said no. That to me says Catholics (Or at least religious people in general) generally look for different values than others. Would most girls prefer a guy to be taller than them? That goes without saying. But it's more of a question if it's a deal-breaker for you, and an overwhelming majority on here have said it's not. It's rather interesting, really.

Found an article discussing the topic. Its about a year old but still worth a read if youre curious FP

How do tall women and short men survive the dating world? A 2008 study of 382 undergraduates in the journal Personality and Individual Differences found that both sexes preferred relationships where the woman was shorter than the man. Curiously, the research also showed that women enforced the norm more strongly than men. Twenty-three percent of men but only four percent of women said they were open to a relationship in which the woman was taller.

It fascinates me that such an overwhelming majority said they wouldn't on that study, but here 70% of girls said it didn't matter. That's weird, because the study said if you come from traditional backgrounds, it would be a bigger deal, but seeing as how everyone here is pretty much Catholic (A 2,000 year old tradition), you would think all the girls would say no.

Eh, this is a small place. The world is a big place.

I think it totally makes sense from a biological perspective...we are animals after all. Females are attracted to males who exhibit characteristics that will make them more dominant over other males....in the end we have a subconscious urge to reproduce and its been shown that there are certain physical signs that tell us how potentially fertile a male is. Appearance is a big drive.

Of course this all stems from our evolutionary tree and its not as strong in us anymore, but little bits still remain.

There is a really cool documentary available on Netflix called the Science of Sex Appeal. Check it out sometime!

But I think I may be onto something. None of my friends think height is a big deal and would date someone shorter. Perhaps it is because they are religious and look to other things in a man, perhaps the culture is starting to change, or perhaps I just got lucky and found the only two girls on the planet who don't care. We'll find out, I guess. :P

I shall watch it. It sounds interesting.
