Byzantine
I do not want to write a metaphysics paper.

Byzantine
Momentary madness. I'm okay now. Kind of. Sort of. Maybe.
Nihil Obstat
Sometimes when I give examples in philosophy papers I try to write in ponies. Nobody has complained so far.

Byzantine
"I love therefore I am." It's actually coming along rather nicely; I just don't want to do it.
Nihil Obstat
Cool topic. Sounds way more fun than my metaphysics class was last year. :P
Fr. Antony Maria OSB
I wrote a paper about nothing in my metaphysics class: it really hurt my brain, but it was fun to write! Good luck with yours! Basing some things on Descartes, I presume?

Fr. Antony Maria OSB
I thought Heidegger's paper on nothing was pretty epic. That's what I wrote my paper about. Facing the nothing brings forth anxiety within an individual, and by means of this the person realizes their being. Epic and mind-twisting at the same time (then again, isn't that how good philosophy is determined?)
Nihil Obstat
Yeah, I really enjoyed that. Way more fun than reading Hegel.

Fr. Antony Maria OSB
Yeah, I really enjoyed that. Way more fun than reading Hegel. Somehow I managed to get through my undergrad in philosophy with only reading some Hegel in preparation for comps. I'm glad I didn't have to study him in depth, but I'd like to go back and read him leisurely so I'm at least somewhat familiar with him. Thanks! Yep, had to demonstrate that Descartes's thing wasn't exactly the best proof of existence. But...but what if we don't thin.....*poof* Stephen: You've got your dreams that don't come true Elvis: You've got the ones that do Stephen: Then you've got your nothing Both: Some folks believe in nothing But if you believe in nothing Then what's to keep the nothing from coming for you From Stephen Colbert's Christmas special song, "Much worse things to believe in." I really should be studying MS Word. That is amesome! Thanks for sharing that. (In response to the quote in the song, though, the nothing coming towards you is what causes anxiety which is how you know that you exist/have being. I think. Sorry, my philosophy nerd is coming on pretty strong in this post :P )

Sorry, my philosophy nerd is coming on pretty strong in this post :P ) Mankind takes great pleasure in philosophizing an eternity we cannot yet comprehend.
